Careers at Adelante

We are always looking for caring and capable people who are excited about the possibility of making a difference in their community while they make a living. Adelante is among the largest and most diverse nonprofit agencies in New Mexico, and has plenty of opportunities for advancement.

A majority of our employees work directly with people with disabilities and seniors. As a relatively large organization, there are lots of other jobs such as HR, marketing, fundraising, IT, business operations, management and more.

Our Work Culture

At Adelante, we enjoy working together to improve our community. We are known for innovation and quality and appreciate employees that do, too. We have quarterly staff meetings when great work is recognized with Employee of the Quarter and Superstar of the Quarter and organization news is shared (see below for some of our current news).

Adelante offers employees a great benefit package which includes: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, a retirement savings account with a company match, employee assistance program, wellness benefits and more.

We also offer perks like free tax help, education scholarships, discounts at our thrift store, discounts on cell phone service, low-cost computers through DiverseIT and more through the ACE initiative, which stands for Adelante Cares for Employees.

For convenience, our team can view their pay stubs and other key information on a mobile app.

Weigh in on employment options by Friday June 21!

If you’re a self-advocate, family member, or someone who cares about keeping a full range of employment options for people with disabilities, it’s important to voice your choice. The federal government, specifically the Office of Disability Employment has asked for public feedback on jobs and offered several ways to make it easy to provide input.

Lots of Ways to Work

Working as direct support staff is a rewarding job that can involve supporting someone at work, an a community setting, or in their home. Adelante has an innovative way of hiring wherein candidates actually tryout the position before being hired to see what it’s like. You might be surprised what direct care looks like. Check out this video on Facebook.

You can also work on the administrative teams at Adelante including HR, IT, fundraising, marketing and more.

Basic Requirements

Because we work closely with people who are vulnerable and their care is our primary concern, all of our positions require a background check and drug test. Though experience is appreciated, it is not always required. Adelante provides all of the state-required trainings to our incoming staff members so they can work safely and effectively. Many positions require employees to drive for the agency, and for those positions a good driving record is required. More specifics are listed on the individual job openings. To apply, click on the “apply” button at the bottom of each job listing.

Have a Disability? We can help you find a job!

At Adelante, we are actively working to help people with disabilities succeed in the workplace. Our primary objective is to help you find competitive employment in the community and we offer that service through EmployAbility or Ticket to Work.

Adelante also likes to demonstrate that people with disabilities are great employees, so we actively hire for our organization. Feel free to browse the job openings.

If you have a severe disability and would like to work in a more supported position, or if you are a case manager or guardian for someone who does, contact us to arrange a tour or find out about jobs available through Adelante Enterprises. No experience is necessary and there are opportunities for advancement.
