Members of Kiwanis Aktion Club just wrapped up their latest service project, a food drive to benefit hungry families through the Storehouse, New Mexico’s largest food pantry.

Aktion Club members collected 158 non-perishable food items, providing an estimated 102 meals for hungry people in our community. Aktion Club also collected $20 in cash donations, which will provide another 100 meals thanks to the purchasing power of the Storehouse food pantry. In total, the Aktion Club provided a total of 202 meals for families, children, and seniors supported by the Storehouse.

The Aktion Club is a service club providing leadership and community-service opportunities for people with disabilities. The club is hosted by Adelante in cooperation with Kiwanis Club of Albuquerque, and is open to all people with disabilities in our community. You do not have to participate in Adelante programs to get involved.

If you or someone you know is interested in joining, contact the club’s advisor, Joel Wigelsworth, at JAWigelsworth@GoAdelante.org or (505) 341-7117.

If you’d like to make your own donation to the Storehouse, visit www.TheStorehouseABQ.org or call (505) 842-6491.
