The Aktion Club recently delivered a check to CLNKids for funds they raised through a service project selling beautifully decorated cookies. CLNKids is a nonprofit organization helping homeless children and their families through education, parental support, and community involvement. The support from Aktion Club was greatly appreciated.

This week, Aktion Club members are wrapping up their current service project creating backpacks of needed items for local foster children, in response to a community request from New Mexico’s Children Youth & Families Department (CYFD). Aktion club members are collecting items like stuffed animals, books, blankets, and more to provide comfort to children entering foster care.

The Aktion Club is a service club providing community-service opportunities and leadership training for people with disabilities. The club is hosted by Adelante in cooperation with Kiwanis Club of Albuquerque, and is open to all people with disabilities in our community. You do not have to participate in Adelante programs to get involved.

If you or someone you know is interested in joining, contact the club’s advisor, Joel Wigelsworth, at JAWigelsworth@GoAdelante.org or (505) 341-7117.
