Community Resources

The people supported by Adelante are a resource to our community — and so is our organization.

Adelante works to be a resource for people across New Mexico, above and beyond our work supporting seniors and people with disabilities. Many people are surprised at the variety of services we offer that benefit our state and the people who live here.

Adelante supports the work of other nonprofits, connects people to technology, durable medical equipment, governmental benefits, and food.

Plus, we run a thrift store that provides low-cost clothing and housewares while providing employment for people with disabilities.

Services

Bargain Square

Bargain Square Thrift Store in Los Lunas provides employment opportunities for people with disabilities and great deals for shoppers. We process thousands of donations every day and are open 7 days a week. And, yes, we can pick up large donations.

Benefits Connection Center

Adelante connects seniors and people with disabilities to government benefits, offering a one-stop screening process and support with enrolling or re-enrolling. If you or someone you care about are wondering if you’re eligible for government assistance, Adelante can help you find out for free.

DiverseIT

DiverseIT provides technology training and employment opportunities to disadvantaged populations. The computers refurbished through this program are given to people or organizations in need. Cost-effective computer repair is also available to the public.

GiveABQ

GiveABQ  is a nonprofit donations distribution center where you can give a donation and have it benefit the social service nonprofit community. We pickup and distribute office furniture, housewares and durable medical equipment, such as wheelchairs and walkers. Nonprofits can select and get items they need for their organization or their clients.

Hunger Initiatives

Adelante runs New Mexico’s oldest and largest food rescue, Desert Harvest.

In 2014 Adelante was asked to operate New Mexico’s largest food pantry, The Storehouse NM.
