Desert Harvest was founded in 2001 as an efficient way to feed hungry children and families, while also providing ongoing volunteer opportunities for people with disabilities. Desert Harvest rescues fresh, surplus food from area grocers, restaurants, hotels, and schools—food that would otherwise be thrown away. Volunteers then deliver that food to nonprofit agencies that feed New Mexico’s hungry!
