Adelante would like to thank NM Business First, Western Sky Community Care and Meow Wolf for the grant we received at February’s Grow New Mexico – Philanthropy event.  The proposal Adelante submitted was for our for DiverseIT program which provides IT training and job opportunities for people with disabilities and other populations that are too often left out of technology careers.

Per NM Business First, our state has big challenges to tackle, as do nonprofits that serve vulnerable populations. You won’t find many nonprofit leaders who don’t agree that fresh approaches and collaboration are increasingly important.

Today’s event and the funding was to illustrate how nonprofits trying new things to move the needle for their constituents, and the opportunities and challenges that are emerging as they do.

Our development team as well as Meta Hirschl, VP of Information Systems for Adelante, were happy to be at the event and especially pleased to get the funding for this innovative program.

Next up for DiverseIT?

Adelante is in the process of remodeling a retail space on San Mateo that will soon be a computer repair shop and training center for DiverseIT. Watch our website and social media for updates. Thanks!
