Part of the skills building and education we offer through DiverseIT includes working toward and earning industry-recognized IT certifications. Currently we offer the Google IT Support Professional Certificate, and the CompTIA A+,  Network+ and Security+ Certifications. Our goal is to prepare students for their exams.  Through the certification training, participants gain the skills they need to work as entry-level computer technicians.

Google IT Support Certification requires participants to complete 5 courses of study in foundational skills including troubleshooting, customer service, networking, operating systems, system administration and security.

The coursework is for beginners and prepares people for entry level work in IT support services. Through DiverseIT, this program takes about 8 months to complete.

The CompTIA A+ Core Series certification requires candidates to pass two exams: Core 1 (220-1001) and Core 2 (220-1002). With DiverseIT, this course includes 189 hours of instruction geared towards preparing students to pass the two exams. The course takes about 6 months to complete. Students will receive in-depth instruction on a number of topics including:

• Installing and configuring PC components.
• Installing, configuring and troubleshooting software.
• Configuring and troubleshooting laptops and mobile devices.
• Supporting operating systems.
• Security concepts.
• Providing technical support for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.

With this certificate complete, students will be ready to apply for entry level positions as a service desk analyst, tech support specialist, field service technician, data support tech, and more.

The Network+ certificate course trains participants in troubleshooting, configuring, and managing networks. This certificate usually comes after a student has completed an A+ Certificate. The time this course will take to complete depends on the students time commitment, but will take no less than 6 months. Students learn how to:

• Design and implement networks.
• Configure, manage, and maintain network devices.
• Put network security in place.
• Troubleshoot network problems.

Jobs in the IT field that use these skills include Junior Network Administrator, Computer Technician, Help Desk Technician, Network Field Technician, and more.

The Security+ Certification course provides instruction in the core knowledge required of entry level cybersecurity jobs. Like the Network+ Certificate, this course usually comes after a student has completed the A+ course of study, and will take no less than 6 months to complete.  In this course students will learn how to:

• Assess an organization’s level of network security. 
• Secure computer networks.
• Idenfity and respond to security events that occur. 

This course prepares students for entrylevel cybersecurity jobs such as a Security Administrator, Systems Administrator, and Security Engineer/Analyst.
