Donation Drives – December 14 & 15, 2018, and January 4 & 5, 2019
Do you have medical equipment such as walkers, wheelchairs, shower stools, or power scooters? Have any extra furniture? Want to make a huge, positive impact in your community? If so, please donate these items to GiveABQ!
GiveABQ, a new initiative of Adelante, will be opening soon and the organization needs everyone’s support in stocking the warehouse that will soon benefit multiple individuals and nonprofits across New Mexico.
If you have furniture, household items, or durable medical equipment (like wheelchairs, walkers, bathing aids, rollators, etc.), you are encouraged to bring them to GiveABQ, located at 1520 First Street NW in downtown Albuquerque. GiveABQ is hosting donation drives the next several weeks:
- Friday, December 14, 2018 from 9 AM to 3 PM
- Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 9 AM to 1 PM
- Friday, January 4, 2019 from 9 AM to 3 PM
- Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 9 AM to 1 PM
Adelante works to be a community resource above and beyond our mission, and GiveABQ is a great example of what the organization refers to as Mission LeveragingTM – bringing nonprofits together that wouldn’t typically work alongside each to produce efficiencies and financial savings to the larger community.
Your Donations Enrich Our Communities
GiveABQ will pay the donations forward, offering furniture donations (both home and office furnishings) to nonprofits, many of whom work with people who are transitioning from homelessness to housing. GiveABQ will also continue to offer free durable medical equipment through the Adelante Back in Use program, which is located at the same site. Walkers, wheelchairs, shower stools, and other equipment are provided to anyone in our community with a need, especially seniors and people with disabilities.
Thanks to the collaborative approach of GiveABQ, donors will be able to give to one place to benefit multiple nonprofits and the people they support. Adelante greatly appreciates the PNM Fund for providing the seed funding for GiveABQ. Hart Construction, Pom’s & Associates, Bank of the West, United Way of Central New Mexico, and the New Mexico Technology Assistance Program also contribute to the programs located at Adelante’s new location on 1st Street.
With the program officially opening in early 2019, GiveABQ greatly needs community donations to get the initiative off the ground and to stock the warehouse. Financial gifts are also appreciated for GiveABQ to keep the operation sustainable.
